Richard Schalek is a Research Associate in Prof. Jeff Lichtman’s laboratory. Richard oversees the operation and maintenance of various microscopes and ancillary sample preparation equipment. In addition, he is responsible for user training and laboratory safety. Richard’s formal education includes a B.S. and M.S. in Physics, and a Ph.D. in Materials Science. He has worked in the field of microscopy for approximately 32 years. His current research interest is in the development of Automated Tape Ultra Microtomy (ATUM).
